100 Days of Sketching

100 Days of Sketching is a simple yet effective challenge to improve your art and drawing skills in 100 days. Its concentration lies in its simplicity and its sustainability. Kesh is a visual storyteller, illustrator, and filmmaker, and his YouTube Channel is KeshART. I joined Kesh’s challenge, completed 100 days in 2020, and made a picture a day; whatever word of the day from the prompt list inspired me.

Puppet Making

A puppet is a portable form of a person or creature typically moved either by strings commanded from over or by a hand inside it. In the beginning of 2021, I sparked interest in how to make your own handmade puppets. I researched online, watched many videos on the topic, and found Adam Kreutinger to be the most resourceful. I applied the puppet creators’ techniques and tips to my own and was pleased with the outcome. Finally, I created the Mini Puppet version of me!

Oil Paint

Oil painting is the process of coating with pigments with a medium of binder as drying oil. The amount of yellowing or drying time is critical. The paints develop a particular consistency depending on the medium. When oil paints sufficiently diluted, speedy drying times occur to like 1–3 days and with traditional oils about 1–3 weeks. This project consists of the oil paints I have created in different times with still imagery. You can see my art along with a few processes presented in this Online Oil Paint Gallery.

1) Flowers & Fruits 2) Vase & Fruits 3) Koi Fishes 4) Fox 5) My Lovebirds: Berry & Mango

Fashion Clothing Design

In the Fashion Colors Course I attended at the end of 2020, students were assigned to use scrap fabric to create outfits to establish imagery. I used my creative perspective with colors and fabric textures to create unique outfits. The process of doing so was challenging because the scrap fabric was in a mixed pile and was timed on how efficiently we can create stylish attire.

Chinese Watercolor

I began creating Chinese Watercolor Art aka shuimo (水墨 /shway-mor/ ‘water-ink’) and guohua (国画 /gwor-hwaa/) in 2020. In this collection, I used watercolor techniques to draw a variety of nature scenes. Chinese watercolors are natural pigments bound with glue. The main focus is its luminosity and transparency. Mainly there are two techniques;

1. The filling-in technique is strongly related to calligraphy.

2. The boneless technique combined with the splashing-ink technique. Color usage is the foremost performer on the rice paper. There are no outline or shaping lines in ink, instead color is used. This method is applied mainly in flower painting but can also be used in landscape painting.
